I was out flying my slow stick this morning and it took a good nose dive. :( When I got up to the plane i noticed that all channels were moving uncontrolably. So I unhooked the battery. When I went to reattach the battery the servos moved slightly in one direction and then nothing would respond or move according to my Tx inputs. I checked all connections and everything seems fine. Is my Rx shot?

It most likely just damaged the Crystal in the RX .. replace the crystal, it should be fine

You don't need a set, only the receiver crystal. It does have to match the one you are replaceing in frequency.

Before you get a new one look and see if the one you have is plugged in.
Some people don't tape their crystals in the receiver and on impact they come out/loose.:)

Also unplug one servo at a time and test. If you damaged one servo it could have all "jammed".

So do the crystals have to be of the same brand or do they only have to be of the same freq? Do they have to be of the same brand as the Tx or Rx? Whats the difference between dual and single conversion? Thanks

The crystal should be the same brand as whatever you're going to plug it into. So in your case the same as the receiver (or whatever make of crystal the maker of the receiver recommends....they don't all make their own crystals).

Single and dual conversion receivers use completely different crystals. So you have to get correct SC/DC type as well as the correct brand.
