No, I wasn't there yesterday (the 18th) but will be there later today, probably mid-afternoon.. Have to work this AM for awhile, and the weather looks crappy on the radar anyway. I do have a plane that I need to finish working on, and "powerlines" (Chris) will help me swap motor connectors (or probably do it for me which is even better. I don't solder worth a darn).. anyway I'll look you up. I'm reasonably sure we've met. I fly alot with Chris over at Dennis Hobbies in Eastman. I'm a member of Middle Georgia Flyboys of which Chris is the president.

BTW, I'm having just a little trouble keeping whos is who separated with real names vs. handles...lol. I know Bill (behind the counter), Fred (FM), Bryan (liquidity), and Jeff (I think that is rcproptester) and Rich (stick??) Steve (NUTS), and I've met a few others but mixing up who is who is the problem... (the mind is a terrible thing to waste, eh??)

No FM, the weather was great for us all!!! Got some great flying in yesterday morning, but kind of laid off in the afternoon due to the crowds, show, etc. (sleeping in a camper was nOT as good as my own place...:) Translated, I was beat in the afternoon...:{) Also, we had an unexplained incident with several of our planes, which we think were dog related, but since no one ACTUALLY saw anything...oh well... :( Seems someone forgot to tell "servo" that the little dog he was following was no longer in "heat" and he seemed intent on his ventures, much to the disdain of several of us......
Anyway, a very big thanks to "powerlines" (Chris Nobles) for letting me dis-place him in his rolling castle, and his hospitality . To Dusty, for graciously sleeping in the tent (you could have slept in the trailer with us Dusty, I'd have not told anyone..lol:)) To Jeff, Kenny, Richard, Mel, and all the others for the conversations Friday night. The fellowship was what this hoby is all about. I got to meet "Shhh!iamsellinghisstuff!" (Cindy, Jeff's better half...:)) who has sold me several of Jeff's items (she didn't know what they were called, but I DO!!) and Lynne, Bill's better half who I must apologize to as I never did check her math for her. Maybe next time Lynne?? Well FM, what is the date?? November 17th?? We'll see if I can make that one for sure. Got an important birthday on that day, so I can't make any promises yet... Your name was mentioned over and over, something to do with the lack of wind on Saturday. I just didn't understand what that was about...:<::D

Speaking of things that used to be Jeff's...

I crunched the Zero bad today.

I took before and after pics. I had repainted it, etched in panel lines in the wing, fancied it all up, than SMOOSH!!!

Lost the canopy in flight, and was bnringing it in for a landing so I could retrieve the canopy. As I was landing, a wing just barely grabbed, whipped it around, and the nose snapped off.

I was PISSED!!!

It wasn't even a bad grab, or so I thought. It wouldn't have resulted in a cartwheel, which many of my beginning planes survived.

I did make up for it by hitting a glider event today. One of the guys there, an ex hippy who became a PHD in physics, who got drafted, made bombs, got let go, and went back as a contractor, and made more bombs, put me on a.....

I don't know if I can say it....

But, it was good. While he didn't let me do any of the hi-start launches, I did get to do quite a bit of flying, and all three landings were with me at the controls.

A good day. It wasn't Hodge's, but it was fun.

The shocking part was, none of these guys knew of Hodge's. Mac needs to start hosting some glider competitions...

Here is my report on the event. copied from my post on RCg...because I am lazy.... I will say thanks to all who came out, and thanks for all the fun guys. You guys make it all worthwhile...:)

Just got settled down myself. We got back home about 1530, but I just now got done long enough to post a few pics.
All in all, we had a great time. Too bad you guys couldn't make it Brian and Fred.
We woke up to a brisk Sat. AM to clear skies and LOTS of stars. It was still dark, and there were a few people already up and flying with lights on. As the sun came up, we started noticing more activity up and down the line...
We did some flying, but alas, I had to go to work.....Looking for a battery my son ejected from his wing dragon... after a wet, cold, 30 minute search, I was able to locate it. Then I really had to go to work..... setting up for concessions, and the raffle.
We had a lot of flying going on due to the fabulous day. Not many crashes, until the 40% carden went in due to problems with the rudder getting locked full right. Chris fought it valiantly, but in the end, it went down from about 15 feet up... what a shame..
night came, and with it the festivities.... We didn't have Joey flying through the barn this time, but powerlines put on a show with the sig cadet he bought. From knocking cones over to trying to land on the table we put in the field, we had a blast. There also was some video of hodgehound's nite SSX in the air. I have to do some audio editing to it in order for it to be postable here :rolleyes: But, I'll get it up in a day or so...
Today was just as great as yesterday was, but it was filled with people getting ready to leave.... Always a sad occurence, but It has to happen some time...
If you ever get the opportunity to attend one of the fly ins, I would highly suggest it.....

Also, my son took most of the pictures, so..... :)

Well, it also was a pleasure to meet you too. I guess I just "heard" Cindy as that's my oldests name, and my hearing ain't what it used to be:<:.... I had way too much fun sitting around with the guys Friday night, the food was excellent, and your kids were very pleasant to be around also. They were, well, kids...:ws: You and J should be proud of them. They were very helpful to me, and the whole crew J, Bill, Kenny, Chris, Dusty, and Richard, Mel, or better yet, the "canopy crew" made me feel right at home. Nov 17th We Have An Annual Turkey Bird Fun Fly
