Help me out guys. I put in the disc, it asks me if I want to load it, I say yes. It starts to load then stops and the screen says:

16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

So what is wrong guys? Please help!!!! Steve.

I had no problem getting discs 1-3 on but 4 and 5 just dont want to know.. there is an installer fix available on the knife edge forums that works for disc 3 but thats all I know so far.. the rest of the time after installing the add ons it just keeps asking for the disc all the time and you either have to uninstal all realflight files from the pc or delete the registry entry for disc 4 and 5 in the pc's registry. ( dont touch it if you dont know what you are doing, delete the wrong key and you have had it)

I didn't have problems loading 3,4,5 but then I tried updating to 3.5 and I kept getting an error. I had to down load each update from 3-3.5 to get 3.5 to finally work..kind of a pain but now I'm happy

3.5???

Yeah, then he can join the 1452 threads on half a dozen boards and have something much worse than "disc load errors" to complain about :D

WWI Ace, I have been having the same problem, and I just got a reply from tech support.....I have not tried the fix yet, but at least it's a start:

If you try to start or install an MS-DOS-based or a 16-bit Windows-based
program on your Windows XP-based computer, you may receive an error
message that is similar to one of the following:
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
path to the program that you are trying to start or install
C:\Winnt\System32\config.nt The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate
the application.
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
path to the program that you are trying to start or install
config.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and
Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the
application.
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
path to the program that you are trying to start or install
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application.
These errors have recently appeared for many software under Windows XP,
and most often they are caused by the installation of Service Pack 2
into Windows XP. Microsoft is aware of this problem and has published a
solution on their Help and Support pages.
Here is a link that should take you directly to the Help and Support
Article (324767) that Microsoft published for resolving these errors:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767

Please Note: As this is an error within the operating system itself,
please contact Microsoft or your computer manufacturer should you
require assistance with this solution as posted by Microsoft for Windows
XP.
In case you need assistance with the tasks outlined in article 324767,
the phone number for Microsoft Technical Support is (866) 234-6020.
