well A while back I was at a electric fly at a local club feild (CCRC) and my gf got 2 tickets for the raffle and she won this tribute, well she doesn't fly but said she would learn anyways. We put that decals and all on about a month or 2 ago and well last night I decided hey,I'm going to put it together. So I got the gorilla glue out and my blocks and wax paper and glued the wing to the fuse then the stab to the fuse.while all that dried I went to bed got up today about 11:30 and glued the wood mount to the carbon rod for the motor and glued the elevator half to the other half and let dry then I started putting the radio gear in and well at about 6 pm this afternoon I went next door and range checked it then flew it. Right out of my hand about 1/4 throttle flew so nice and level no trim needed at all.
I did a few rolls and some spins, inverted flight it flys just as well upside down as inverted.I then came down to do some hovering. Then went up and did some KE with it. It doesnt have the elevator my Edge has but it has just as much rudder witch is nice.I then landed and came home to get another batery pack and went back out into my back yard and flew the 2nd flight.just asgood as the first one.I read some things about this plane lastnight that had me disapointed but I am glad I didnt just stop building and say heck with it,thats why You dont belive everythingyou read.It came out kinda heavy for me about 15 ounces AUW. but it flys nice it slows down pretty good also.

I will admit that the tail does shake big time,I will need to get some triangle stock to fix this.and the wind does bow in flight, not sure what could be done to fix this. I only used 3 servos as I didnt have a forth so my ailerons are kinda slow also but planty fast enough for regular flying.
Ifanyone wants to see how I mounted my aileron sevos up close just as and I will take a close up picture of it.I will most likely do this anyways maybe tommorrow. have to see what it does in the wind.

Hey...glad you had a good one (two?)!

The thing oughta be called a "flexi-flyer" aye?!
Mines been shakin' and doing the twist for a year, and nuthin' fallen off yet...
It's a good airplane...I wouldn't worry about the bowing wing, etc...mine is 15 oz. too, and I yank some serious G's and the wing hasn't snapped yet :)
Only thing I ever had to repair was the balsa elevator joiner, and the nose when I crunched it in tryin' to do torque rolls down on the deck :)

I think you probably could train someone w/ it, because it does have good slow speed characteristics...and it's easy to repair.

Yes the first flight I was thinking that anyone should be able to fly it w/o any problems I think I will even offer my father to fly it tommmorrow.
He normally doesnt fly my planes but I would like him to try this one out,he has the E-flite Ultimate and it flys really nice also,he had problems with the elevator on his from day one.Guess I got lucky and got mine glued stright the first time I used 30 minute epoxy so hopefully It wont be going anywhere. My father was kidding me saying " well it will hover like they said it would :D lol" he knows I can make any thing look easy when it comes to flying.I'm 35 years younger then him to though. I wish I would have been around his younger days O the storys I hear of him doing crazy things,Things I wouldnt even try to do now.

Anyways this is a great little plane and well the bow looks funny when flying it but if you land and look you see its stright.Im not all sure about the carbon rods they put in the wings or fuse. They musta glued them with some crappy glue or something. My edge's wind doesnt bow like that but I also have bigger rod in it..

How does it do in the wind ? I guess I will find out maybe tommorrow.
