Hello All
I thought I might contribute.
For many years I have been keen on electric ducted fan models with a particular bent towards airliners.
Today was a good day. The Lear flew for the first time.
Regards
Ian.

Thank you for the kind comments.
With respect to the structure of the EDF's, I am using WeMoTec micro fans with our own designed cowlings, vacuum molded.
I have often thought of down a 707 version, but more in the 320 version and in Cathy colours. At this stage I have no plans to contribute. The history link on our site http://www.edfmodel.com/content.asp?PageID=14840 talks a little about how models are built.

has anyone added flaps & retractable landing gear? Can the EDF"s supply enough power as it is now to support the extra weight of these types of mods. Or would you have to get different motors?

The new 307 electric airliner. 2 meter wing span, WeMoTec Midi fans.
Yes this one can carry retracts. Still in final assembly.

Oh I absolutley agree and would love to have one but I, and a lot of others I'm sure, don't have 2 or 3 thousand bucks to put into a plane!:D
Just providing an alternate solution. Never knocked the EDFmodel at all, they are beautiful aircraft.

Beautiful they are but I think it's nuts to spend that much on RC models. I think that the turbine guys are nuts too!:D It takes all kinds though and to each his own.
