Anyone know anything about these?
Just ordered an EP283012-970KV outrunner from www.gwsexpert.com (http://www.gwsexpert.com)
EP High Performance 12 Turn 970KV Out-Runner Brushless Motor(150Watts) --- 28mm outer diameter 30mm in length 3mm Shaft
It seems to be compairable with a Himax HC2812-0850 but $24 less, which I used to buy a 2nd lipo pack.:D
I found a thead on RCU about the gear drive motors (which they seemed to like) but I haven't found any info on the outrunners.

Kinda looks like a knock-off of an AXI doesn't it? I'd be interested in hearing how it performs as I have a need for one with that sort of power.

Well since I have nothing to compair it to I wouldn't be the one to ask. LOL

Let me start by saying that I am completely impressed with GWSexpert.com. Placed my order on Wednesday and it was in my hand this morning. I wasn't expecting it untill Monday even though I had it sent Priority Mail, which I might add was the cheapest shipping method ($5.75) unlike some other dealers I've dealt with recently.
Let me tell you this motor with my new $28 1300 mW 10c lipos had me giggling like a schoolgirl tonight. My Formosa tore up the sky!
I can't compair it to a Himax (since I've never had one) but for $43 I'm impressed and like I said previously, the money I saved let me get an extra battery.
Current setup has my Formosa at 17.4 oz. turning a GWS 1047 prop and it'll lift off the ground at around 20'.

How did you mount the motor on the Formosa and are you using 2c or 3c lipo's? Larry

I made a plate out of 1/16" ply that mounts to the stick mount gear drive housing and the motor mount attaches to that. If my digi hadn't crapped out I'd post a picture.:(
BUT if I was installing it in a new kit I'd probably use an all ply mount like I've seen posted someplace.
Oh and it's a 3c lipo.

Thanks, I get the idea now of how to attach. Never thought about it, but now may try a different motor I have on my Estarter and maybe Formosa when I can go brushless. Larry
