I'm using the new Astro 20 geared system that gives you a power switch on the controller. When I turn off the power switch I understand that the controller is still on, but power to the motor is off. Will it hurt to turn off the transmitter after I turn off the power switch on the controller?

The power switch on the ESC cuts power to the receiver and servos, nothing more. At this point, it should be safe to turn off the transmitter too.

Thanks Matt...

What does the controller red light mean when it turns on at around 90% throttle?

It won't but it is a bad habit. You should always disconnect the pack from the controller, as then there is no way the motor can start up.

The red light on the controller indicates full power.
