I could use advice on the following:
I have a Phoenix 85HV ESC which I would like to use with my Plettenberg XTRA 30-10. The voltage (I will be using a 10s1p 5000ma lipo) and current draw (should be 65-70 amps peak with the prop I will be using) are appropriate for this ESC. The only concern I have is that the Plettenberg literature says that only Jeti, Shulze and Kontronic ESC's have been tested with their motors. Do you at Castle have any experience or suggestions with this combo? I can't imagine that your ESC wouldn't work but I don't want to blow up either of these expensive components.
Presuming this combo is OK, I would also appreciate any programming suggestions you can give me. The Plettenberg literature suggests hard timing and a 9Hz switching frequency. I will be using it in a fixed-wing pattern/ 3-D plane. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Use low timing on our controllers w/13KHz switching rate. I have an Orbit 30-14 on a Madness at work. ;)

Dear Joe,
Thanks for the prompt reply. Just to be sure I have it right, you are suggesting option 3 on program setting 5 (low timing 0-15 degrees) and option 1 on program setting 8 (11kHz)? Thanks again for the help.

Correct. :)

Dear Joe,
Many thanks for the info. I just got a Castle Link to program the ESC. The software and hardware installed fine. I am guessing that the ESC needs a battery pack connected to it before any programming or reading of the settings can take place? Thanks,

Mike

Yes - you need at least a 4S pack conected.
