I'd like to know also!! Looked at one today at LHS. Looks pretty good, but didn't have the opportunity to take it out of the packing.

It comes with an E-flite 6.6:1 gear box and recommends an E-flite Park 400 and E-flite 20 - 25 amp ESC.

I am trying to put that same setup in a Sig Kadet EP 42 right now

I have one partially built - have not flown it yet - but the kit quality is really good. I am guessing it will be a handful to fly.

yeah it looks real good!

shouldnt be a handful though....all the aerobats ive flown have had fantastic flying characteristics, even at very low speed, can even walk them in to land with a slight headwind.

very much looking forward to anyone who has one...

I have a new Mini Edge 540 still in box. I will probably build it next week. I have a Mini Funtana now. I wanted to get crashing out of my system with that. The Mini Edge seems to have taken some of the MF problems out of the design. I should not have started with the MF.. but I did and now I am past the crash stage & able to set it down a lot slower. I fly out of a grass field 1300' where I used to fly my real Clipped Wing Cub! The grass is rough on the small tires so I went to aluminum gear & 2" tires till I get better!!!
I am going to try an outrunner on this one. E-Flite has a new outrunner adapter...# EFLM1915.
Not sure if I will do the rudder cable idea or not:confused:
I nannot imagine it flying much different than the MF??
I will be watching these threads to see feedback on this Edge.

Hey now,
So I bought a Mini Edge a week or so ago along with an Aon 4900 motor.
The model went together easily, everything fit as it should except I had to open up the servo cutouts a bit, no biggie. I used the pull-pull set up on rudder and I'm very glad I did as my model balances right at 60mm with a TP2100 pushed to the electron-wall (er, fire-wall).
I s'pose my biggest complaint is that the wings were a bit warped, I was able to fix that with a heat gun and my very flat building table. I've read that the wing warp is very common with this model so look for that and be carefull so the layered covering doesn't pull apart.
O.k., with that part out of the way, I copied the set up for my Mini Funtana (gotta love the copy function on my computor radio!) and brought her to the field for her maiden flight this weekend. Sunday was a fog day:( so scratch that, but Sunday was clear and calm. I loaded a fully charged battery, carried her out to the flight line and gritted my teeth, and advanced the throttle. A little right rudder and twenty feet later she was airborne. One click right aileron, two clicks up elevator and she was flying flat and stable, I was able to take my hands off the tranny and clapp them ten times before I needed to come around. Nice!

I flipped her inverted and with the tinyest bit of push she was stable.
Rolls were very axial, and she did one of the nicest flat spins I've seen a small model do.
Next I tried to put her in hover, reduce throttle and snap the elevator and she dropped right in:D after a moment or two she started to fall off and with a *small* rudder input she righted. O.k., I was impressed:D .

I've been flying a Mini Funtana since they came out and I went through some changes trying to get that thing to do 3d, upgraded the motor to a Mega 1516-4 and Cobri gear box (3-1), played with the c.g. all over the place and even extended the landing gear for better (sufficient) prop clearence. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Funtana, it's a very fine *pattern* ship but she does kinda suck as 3d:( .
This Mini Edge is the Funtana with all the problems fixed:D
This model lives up to the hype; tumbles, snaps, hovers, harriers, all of the nifty sub-stall games we love so much *and* she's rock solid stable in the air. What more could I ask? I think I have a new favorite model with the Mini Edge. Oh yeah, my final complaint; I had to remove the silly "Edge 540" sticker from the fuse, I *hate* advertizing unless I'm being paid for it. Now to find a kewl pilot figure...

If you use an AXI, you'll need a 2808 and the A30 Hacker works well. I haven't seen one fly with the A20, but I think that it might allow you to do general sport flying, but not 3D. A gearbox is provided with the plane, so a Himax 2025-4200 is a good, inexpensive choice if you need to buy a motor.
