I just built another RC AP Plane from scratch and added a 5mp Pentax S5z.
The design I used is SSV2 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339060) designed by Joe Bennett.
I made a custom Blue Cor FFF wing (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4332372&postcount=9) with removable wing tips for easier transport.
I use a JustGoFly 450TH 3000kv (http://justgofly.com/tech_450TH.htm) geared on 3 cells.

Here is a video I made the other day if you want to take a look.

Aerial Video using a 5' wing span electric plane (http://static.rcgroups.com/gallery/data/500/46301SSV2_in_flight_Small.wmv)
And Yes that is myself at the end of the video. :D

The camera and mount I used for this video hangs under the wing,
pictures are here: My camera & mount (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4355111&postcount=4)

Tell me what you think....

I completed my newest plane I built for AP use . I have a 5mp Pentax S5z on-board.
The design is based on a bigger slow stick and called the SSV2 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339060) designed by Joe Bennett.

Hey Carlos, Thanks for the comments.

Here is some setup info.

Setup:
JustGoFly 450TH 3000kv (http://justgofly.com/tech_450TH.htm)
JustGoFly Tronic 3 cell (http://justgofly.com/Order%20Form.htm)
JustGoFly 32 amp ESC
JustGoFly MM GearBox with GWS 4.5:1 cut to fit
APC 13x6.5 Thin Electric prop (http://www.hobby-lobby.com/elecprop.htm) (stiffer ones for high torque motors)
Collet adapter (http://www.hobby-lobby.com/propadap.htm)
Shadow 3 7ch RX (http://www.dionysusdesign.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=90)
Hs-81 servos

Wing: 60" wide
Fuselage: 43" long
Just under 3 lbs (2.9 lbs)

AP setup:
Pentax Optio S5z (Butterfly Photo) (http://www.butterflyphoto.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=PENOPTIOS5Z)
Prism Switch Hexpert Systems (http://www.hexpertsystems.com/prism/)

The static amp draw at half throttle is around 12amps
And 14amps at 3/4 throttle, Then at WOT it hit about 24 amps.

I have also used 3.9:1 with a 12x8 HD GWS prop but the amp draw was around 28 WOT.
So I went with the 4.5:1 and the 13x6.5 for longer flights.:)
Has a little less thrust but still plenty of power to pull my 3 lb plane.

The batteries I got from JustGoFly will put out 30amp constant with
40 amp burst for 10 seconds.
This 3 cell 2100 is only $49.95 and does a great job for me so far.

Your welcome.... I like the 450TH very much.
But I still may go back to the 12x8 prop with the 4.5:1
I had it on the 3.9:1 at first. Try it out sat see how it goes.

You have it made for AP in Australia, all I have to take pictures of is trees LOL
And a river or two....
Took a few shots today but it was still way to hazy.....
But I do Have one of myself at the field this evening.

tasaraja, very cool video. I have been doing vid flying for years. My first setup was with sig kadet and a vhsc camcorder on the left wing and 5cell r/c car pack on the right wingtip to balance. It was a pig but I got cool shots of Zilker park in austin tx. I'm in victoria tx now flying audiovox digital camcorder. muuuuuch lighter. I got a falcon 56 based e plane i built with axi 282010 and 4000mah lipo 3 cell.
You guys are so lucky to have the lightweight cameras now-a-days.
More power to all you who brave the sky with your wife's camera!!
