I found a place that sells 12V and 13.8v DC supplies. What would be a good amp rating for such a supply to use with a battery charger? The have 5A ($33), 12.5A($45), 8.5A($40), and 17A:eek: ($60) 12VDC. Then there are a 4A ($30), 5A ($30), 10A ($100), and 20A  ($130) 13.8 VDC. The 12VDC supplies are closed frame switcher supplies and the 13.8VDC supplies are cased benchtop supplies. Found them in the Marlin P. Jones catalog I just got at work. Website is http//:www.mpja.com (http://www.mpja.com)

Heheh I looked a little further in the catalog and found a 185 watt PC supply with a 12V 10A output for only $10. Will take a little fiddling, because I think there is a sense line I need to connect, but I may go that route. Maybe I'll check the local surplus PC place and see what they have.

Also found some 2 Amp "wall warts" for $6. If I only am working with > 2 amp battery pack this may suffice.

Find an old AT computer power supply and you won't need to doctor the board harness.

Dumpsters are a good place to look.:D

Most computer power supplies need converted before than can be used. Most computer supply places will give away the used ones.

Go to the RCBattery clinic and get the instructions for converting them.
