I have an 8.4V 300 mAh Nihm battery pack and am using a Super Brain 959 charger. What charge rate should I put on it and for how long? I am getting confused the more I read. A definition of terms would be good for people that are new to hobby. Some of the terms I have read so far... C, mAh... some of the terms...charge rate, trickle charge, fast charge, rapid charge... Feel free to define any other terms or abbreviations that I have not listed. Thanks for the help.

0.3 amps for C charge rate. Please get some input from the guys in your club. If you are not a memeber of a local R/C club go to the AMA website http://modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx
and find a local club to join. Don't feel alone out there!

C stands for Capacity, as in the capacity of the battery pack in mAh. When someone says, "Charge your pack at C," they mean you should set the rate on the charger at an Amps rate the same as the capacity of the pack. For a 300mAh pack, the charge rate is 300mA, or .3 Amps.

C means the same for both charge and discharge rates, and can be used in conjunction with a number to indicate multiples, or fractions of C. For example, 10C is ten times the capacity of the pack, or 10 x .300mA = 3000mA = 3 Amps.

C is the most important term to understand.
