Hey timmer,
i dont think any1 on this site would say glow is better than electric for learning.
If you want to know wich planes r better then search on WF for best begginer plane or somthing like that.
A few are:
Hobbyzone super cub
Web:http://www.modelflight.com.au/hobbyzone/hobbyzone_super_cub_rtf.htm
Vidio:http://216.227.214.60/videos/hobbyzone_supercub.wmv

T-hawk
Web:http://www.readytoflyfun.com/thawk3chrtf.html
Vidio:http://www.toytx.com/thawkvideos.html

Multiplex easy star
Web:http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/240025.asp

The above are all 3ch RTF pacages, wich in my opinion better for the begginer than ARF.

Just a bit of advice from begginer to begginer :)

Hey Timmer,
From the info I have received those planes listed are right on the mark for beginners or just for fun flyin'. :)
Good job with that list Spit.

Is there any starters on towerhobbies.

They are not necessarially easier to fly but the real advantage is that there is more of a selection of starter planes that are capable of allowing a new pilot to teach himself. They are generally smaller and virturally noise free, so there are more places to fly.

On the whole electric is a cleaner flying sport.

Do you have any experiance with RC? or evan electronics, if so you might want to go for a arf, if you go that way you will get much better electronics that will last you for many planes and if you get a DX6 or a JR MAX66 then you may never need to buy another Tx again.
On the other hand RTF's have everything, and theirfore take the guesswork out of selcting electronics.
Rtfs genaraly have better instructions and they are specific to your setup, at least for a while, untill you want that extra ooomph and go brushless and li-po.( in most peoples case not long:))
This may help you select a plane:http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=129841#post129841
Before you first fly you should read this:http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18
These thread are both by Aeajr, the first is a list of heaps of good planes for a begginer.
The seccond one is called "six keys to sucess", thats pretty self explanitry.
Hope this helps,
