I am very new at this and am confused about the power for my electric Raptor 50. I got 2 lipo (http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=2320) batteries with my heli. (1) 8AH 3 cell and (1) 8Ah 4 cell and they are hooked in series. This should = about 30v so is that what the HackerB 50-16xXL motor needs to run?
Or is that the job of this hacker (http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=172) master 48 amp opto heli ESC (http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=2595)? If this ESC is some kind of voltage regulator then what is the output voltage to make the motor run. These questions are all in advance of the reason for this post, what if any battery alteritives do I have for a second set of batteries. It takes my charger about 1 hr to charge each battery, and with a 20 min fly time I just get started and then have to stop and recharge. Thanks

Hi Chief,

You got a big heli there, and it requires big battery power. In order to get more flight time, you'll need to look at purchasing more packs, so they can be on charge while you are flying.

if your set up is based on 7s battery packs you really need to stay there.
using 2 different packs joined in series is not uncommon, but the packs must be the same type of cells in the same condition. You also need ot be careful not to dischrge the packs heavily as this will shorten their life span.
