What are the magnets made of in a BP21 cdrom type motor, andhow are they comparedthe a rare earth agnet?

I think they are neodyme magnets.

Geez all I know is they make pretty good power for a cheap motor. Look lie Neo's to me, maybe Cheapodyminium? :)

Most magnets in rewound/cdrom-style motors nowadays are neodymium. Usually anywhere from N40-N50. I don't know of any rebuilds that use cobalt.
