New to this hobby having flown my much modified tigermoth on only a few occasions. Have new Ultrafly Cessna 182 in box waiting for assembly and enough experience with beginner moth to get nerve up.
Cessna loaded with features: two sets of wings (slow high lift/speed aerobatics). Offers aileron option. Steerable nose wheel or set up as tail dragger.
Anyone with any experience on this new plane. Had to order it special as it wasn't in stock at most hobby shops.

I don't have this plane but I do have ultrafly's Furiuos and Outrage. Good flying planes. Everything I've heard about their Cessna seems to be good!! If you need help I'm sure someone here can tell you what you need to know.

A friend of mine cut his wings on this plane. It served him well. He felt it was a little underpowered on the stock motor and the LG was a bit weak, but it took a lot of abuse while he learned to fly.

Hello, Im new here first post here
I have this plane ,It was my first aleron plane. The only thing that i did to help it perform was to use a 1 inch larger prop with the same pitch(11*4.7). The set up i was running was 1100 9.6 nihm battery, Gws 4 chanel recever, gws 25 amp speed controll, micro9 servos. Also had it set up with the steerable nose gear although I think that it is easer to land inthe tail drager position. The falcon 400 motor last really long I must have flown it at least 70 times and it still flys strong.
Hope this helps

I built the 182 with the beginner wing, so my wife could learn to fly.
The stock motor was very underpowered and model would not climb, with 9.6V 1050mAh NiMh and standard 10x4.7 prop.
I replaced stock motor with the following powertrain (on a home-built, lite-ply motor mount)...
Dualsky X-Motor XM2826CA-15 brushless outrunner (15 turn, 150W)
Dualsky XC1812BA ESC (18A)
Esky EK1-0181 LiPo (7.4V, 800mAh, 10C).
Kavan FK 8x4 prop (fixed).
This has made a MASSIVE difference to the performance!
It will climb almost vertically and zips around very nicely, but will still cruise around in a civilised manner, at about 10% throttle.
Motor/battery/ESC combo is much lighter than the original gear but has not adversely affected the CofG.
Balance and trim are significantly improved over stock setup.
Had to dial control throws back quite a lot, as they were bonkers (3D stylee).
Low speed behaviour is great for a beginner and I couldn't get it to tip-stall.
Even at very high angle of attack, the wings give a predictable and recognisable wobble, before mushing straight forward.
Throttle response/motor pickup is very snappy and will haul you out of the poo, if you need a power surge in a hurry!
Haven't bothered with flaps, as they are not necessary. (I'm saving those for the quick wing).
The upgraded model flies beautifully and scale appearance really looks the biz, in the air.
Can't wait to try the faster wing, so I can chuck it around more.
Only reservation, is that model is extremely light, so avoid flying on a windy day.
Even slight gusts can throw it around - makes landings interesting!
(Motor note:- With motor and ESC from same manufacturer, I was surprised when the motor ran BACKWARDS. I had to swap red/blue ESC wires to reverse direction).
