Do I have to use Gold plated bullet connectors, or will standard bullets from Lowes or Home Depot work ok on the Engine to ESC connection.
Reason being, my local Radio Shack does not carry the Gold Plated ones.
If so what is the most comon size used? 2mm 3mm etc..

I used 'em at first (same reason as you) but ended up switching to the gold bullets because they were too bulky.

As far as a standard size goes, my outrunner came with 3.5mm.

E-flite is using 3.5mm bullet connectors on the products I've seen (brushless ESC). And my Hi-Max motor also came with 3.5mm bullets.

Radio Shack and other hardware stores I've tried do not have gold bullets. Some hobby stores carry them.

Does anyone have a source for 5mm bullet connectors?

they would be more appropriate with the new 5340 and 5330 motors we carry.

Also some guys like to use them on BIG lipo packs.
