Hello has anyone out there used this charger called Hyperion EOS 7i Speed 5S25N is it any good? Looks like a pretty nice charger for the price. Similar to the Triton but goes up to 7amps. Sweet!

Purehobby: I have one, but I haven't used it very much. A friend
recommended it to charge my 3s7p used in a SIG KADET. I need a larger
power supply to charge at the 7 amp rate I need. I am OK at the field
because I can use the car system. I have lots to learn about this
charger as well as all this ELECTRIC FLYING. I have used it to charge
my field box battery and several NIMH packs. Good luck---I think you are
well set with this charger! Best regards, crunch :)

I use a portable jumper cable system from sears for a power supply. It works great with my astro charger and it has two 110 plugs as well. Thanks for the feedback on the charger.

I just got one - yesterday!

Been testing it out and found that it performs as advertised (so far) with a more intuitive interface than my Schulze. The included temperature sensor is a nice touch.

After a 15C discharge on a Kokam2000 2S the charger reported that the amount charged was within 30 mAh of the amount discharged; this was repeated for the next cycle. I didn't time the charge (or make note) but on a subjective level I felt it charged the pack slightly quicker than my Schulze to an at-rest voltage of 8.41 V.

Great to hear thanks for the info Rod. I like the temp sensor coming with the charger and not seperatly that was a great touch as well. Gotta get me one now.

In case you are interested I logged the discharge and recharge of a PQ 2100 XP at 1C using the Hyperion EOS 7i.
Graphs attached and show:

mAh out = 2045.7
Wh out = 15.4
mAh in = 2043.8
Wh in = 16.1I hope this is of some use!

Rod,
Do you happen to have graphs on the triton or Ice to compare them to? Even the astro 109? Thanks for the help

There are some comparison graphs here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333198) if you want to compare.

Does this charger have programmable cutoff voltage for discharging Lipo packs ?

Thanks
