The transmitter for the Blade seems to get pretty good life from the alkaline AA cells - I've got about 40 full flights on mine and the transmitter is still showing 2-green LEDs for battery strength. BUT...

...I've noticed that there is a charging jack on the side of the xmitter. Has anyone actually checked out that jack to see if it's connected? More importantly, has anyone put rechargable batteries in their xmitter and charged them via that jack?

Yep. Sure did. Then tried to charge it using a Double Vision quick charger. Did not work. Went to my Mutiplex 5014 and did not work. Then I swapped the leads at the pos and neg plugs on the MP charger and there she went. I am running 8 AA 2500 NIMHs in mine. My Double vision was set for Futaba stuff so maybe next time I will hit the JR switch and see if that works.

Charging jack is JR type (polarity). Tom

I've wondered this myself, assume someone doesn't have any charger (than what came w/ the various rtf stuff), what might they need to buy to charge all the batts simultaneously in the TX?

I have a 4 place charger now so it takes all day, have to do 1/2 the NiMH's and then the other half.

I would thik a JR Trans charger. Or, I use a Multiplex Multi-charger, I just have to reverse the leads as I am using the leads for a Futaba radio.

Just be careful about Nicads and Nimh. Tom
