Knifeedge is supposed to be releasing a patch that will allow users to import planes. There are a couple of designers out there already designing planes for G3 (Rick Delton, Nemo). If KE ever releases the patch for 3Dmax then we will have all sorts of options.
The only option available now is to modify an exisiting plane to suit your needs.

Heya Mike,
I've been trying to modify a yak but I haven't quite got it down yet.
I've put it up here http://www.sagardia.ca/flat.zip if anyone want's to try it... still a work in progress.
Although plane looks the same as a yak, if you look at the wireframe of the plane it is all flat.
CG is also on the tail heavy side of things. I've been using it with a
-1.0" to -1.5" CG and no wind on the airfield.
Cheers,
Dan
PS Does anyone know how to design new planes? I looked on the KE website but I didn't find anything there.
I'd love to try my hand at designing a plane or two.

Evo,
When I try and open it in G3, the program is telling me that I dont have the appropriate Add-on. Was it created out of the Yak's image?

Never mind EVO, I got it to work. I changed a few things on it and up'd the weight from 7 oz to 15oz. I will tweak it a bit more and see what I can come up with. I will say that it harrier rolls on the deck well :). THe roll rate is blinding and actually tore the H-stab off twice. Need to tone that down a bit, but other than that...good work :)
