Hi Olmod,

The best all-round gyro is the GY401, no doubt. I use the Telebee micro heading-hold gyro, also labeled as Zoom and Align. I doubt it could ever perform quite as well as the GY401, but it is really light and also inexpensive.

i just went from pretty serious junk (walkera gyro) to the gy401 + HDS-877 digital servo. I managed to get the 2 heli's put back together enough for some practice hovering in the living room (new receiver, brushless motor and esc in one, new brushless motor and esc in the other). It will be a short while before I can try them out at the field but I am feeling pretty good about the combo so far. I'll report back after flying them outside. :)

I have tried 4 csm gyro's and wont do it again, the JR 410's work well, the Fut 240 & 401 are the best i have used. I also have a couple of telebee. align, zoom gyros they worked very well for a few months and then decided to stop functioning in HH mode (happened to 2 of them, no crashes). Now i am back to buying Futaba, they are the only ones that have never caused me grief.

I've only ever had a GY401 and all I can say is, you plug it in and it just works. Never misses a beat.

The Futaba GY240's hold really well, for a 400 size you don't need anything better - but the 401 with digital servo is the best you can get for any heli from what I've seen. I've got an Esky 704A HH Gyro on my King 2, and it is a bit ugly, drifts between battery packs badly, and if a bit of cold wind would get into it. Once you set up the gain on the Esky HH gyro for your copter, you need to seal everywhere air can get in with silicone, then it helps with drift.

Telebee's work really well for the price:
