Hello Don, Hope you get that Old Timer flying! Maybe an electric motor would help, less vibration, and no fuel residue. If you were willing to strip off the old covering (I know, it's a chore!) and re-cover with an iron-on transparent it would be lighter but wouldn't look as authentic. Either way there's going to be some O/T meets in the midwest, bring it out!

Probably built with Amboid. I find that Ambroid has usualy gotten britttle over the years and can be a problem. The silk and dope seems to hold up well.
The electric conversion could extend the life of the model, as was mentioned, less vibration and no residue.

Unless you want a display model I'd give it a try.:)
