This may be a very stupid question, but is it at all possible to program a tune into a ESC, instead of the regular, default sounds. I was thinking of as simple as midi sounds ('cause I guess you cannot get vocals out of your motor-coils...but who knows?)

If there are ESC's like that, which brand and how difficult is it?

Or am I just fantasizing?:p

Thanks
Bert

To answer your question directly, yes it is possible to program an ESC to make music. That is how the guys like Castle Creations make those noises. However, I am not aware of any manufacturer that makes programming custom sounds into their ESC's readily available.

Because no one I know of makes this easy, you would have to reprogram the MCU on someone's ESC to make your own sounds. Then to prevent you from killing the ESC use, you would have to add your own ESC code.

What you end up with is a custom built ESC with your own music. Not a trivial task.

Yes some Aero-nuts ESC's uses a program card that allows one to choose from 10 songs to be played on initialization.
