I was wondering if any1 has this plane and what they thought about it..mine came factory 370 w gear box..when it flies it seems like it struggles to turn the prop ...so i installed a eflight brushless 400 outrunner ,20 amp esc. and 11.1 lith-poly 2100mah but havent flown it with these yet,,,,,do tou think this would be a good setup....

I love my Gypsy. As a matter of fact, after I finally crashed the first one to death, I bought another. It flew fine with the stock set-up but SO much better with brushless. I use the E-flite Park 370 with the original gear box (5.33/1?) with a GWS 10/8 prop and a 2 cell TP lipo.
I don't see how you can get a 3 cell in there. And I don't know why you would need all that power. It's supposed to be a park flyer.
By the way...how DID you get a 3cell in there?

Sounds like you have enough power to rip the wings off!!!

i finally flew it today it was great....flyies about 30 min full throttle is kinda scarry (fast) no wing flutter ..I got the batt to fit by shaving the batt dept as much as passible...Ill post pics this weekend to show u how i did it..

You may have had a problem with the gearbox spur gear/pinion gear clearance, a fancy way of saying things were too tight. Also, keep in mind for every one revolution of the prop, the motor has to turn 4 times with the stock gearing, if I recall. I have a Gypsy in my shop, it belongs to my neighbors teenage son who is learning to fly. I set the plane up, made some minor changes, basically a completely stock power system. It flies fine, as a trainer plane should.

This represents a MAJOR upgrade, usually more the work of an intermediate to advanced pilot. The brushless 400 is easily twice as powerful as the stock 370, and the 3S1P LiPoly is overkill to say the least. I fly my neighbors Gypsy on a 2 cell 1500 pack, and it does fine.
So, IMHO, fly the plane at 40-50% throttle. A 3 cell lipo can produce some heavy amps along with the higher voltage. The eFlite 400 B/L can handle it, but the airframe of the Gypsy is definitely as risk, especially with sharp turning maneuvers when flying WOT. Your hop-up kit will serve you well when you go to more aerobatic planes.

you were right elfi flyer ,,,,the plane couldnt handle the g force the power combo makes...i was pulling some tight loops and ripped the wings off .....The dowel pin in the wing was fine but it ripped the windshild and a lot of balsa with it.....no damage from the fall (landed in really tall grass)...Im building it back up to par mabey with a lil wing enforcement..lol keep u posted
