A note: Polk makes bad speakers (most of what you see at Best Buy), and some really good speakers. They generally use Vifa tweeters, which is a good thing. These are from the good line of speakers.
I can certify that these will beat the unliving carp out of anything Bose sells.

Your 100%right on.Somewhere in the mid to upper 90's as I can recall, Polk prostituted themselfs and started selling thru the likes of "The Wiz,PC Richards and so on.It was at that point that high end audio stores backed away from Polk.(Try auditioning a set of speakers at Circuit City, good luck)It's a shame too, because some of there speakers, such as the RTi and LSi line are excellent. I just bought a set of B&W 601 S3 Incredible speakers, but to be honest I'll miss the Polks. They have a certain sound to them, which you can listen too for hours and not get fatigued. Thanks for the post.

Those LSi speakers can be re-created. The woofers are'nt the cheapest, but they can be found, and the tweeters are actually just a generic Vifa - the XT20, I believe.
