Chances are slim unfortunately. :(

This is one area that frankly PayPal stinks in. They trumpet 'security' but really all it amounts to is lip service.

I once did get my funds back after a similar situation where the other party had no funds in their account. I am sure I got lucky.

Please don't allow this to sour you on purchasing goods from other RC'ers. Most deals go as expected. Like anything there is a chance to find a bad apple anywhere.

I hope things work out for you.

Mike is right, unfortunately. Time to do it the only fashioned way -break some kneecaps! Just kidding. Not much more you can do though to get your money back. If the site you bought it from has a rating system, please leave a negative feedback as this will hopefully save others from going though the same problem. Some people make a living off stealing from others. I know, sad but true. If you bought it from someone here, then you just have to "out" him and let us know who he is as there currently is no feedback system on WF.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

If the shop is in the US, you can file a legal claim. Try to find this out using the domain search on www.godaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com). All of the address and phone #s will be there.

That's great providing the information is accurate. Often people fill in bogus information. Other times the owner of the actual domain is the hosting company that sells and manages their 'web presence'.

And honestly, how much money do you have to lose to make it worth filing a legal claim? The only folks that make out are the lawyers. You lose twice. Just throwing good money after bad.
