View Full Version : Dumb GWS direct drive prop quetion

I have just finally got my hands on the soft plastic GWS prop adapters that allow you to put the direct drive props onto the motor shafts directly. These are made of a soft rubber/plastic and have a flat on one end of the thing. Does this go on the motor side of the prop or the front of the prop? GWS was kind enough to not include directions.
Thanks in advance.

I've always put them in the back of the prop, so the flat is toward the motor.

The flange is supposed to be on the outside of the prop hub away from the motor but I've found it really dosen't matter that much. You do, however need to mount it on the outside when using one of the GWS threaded prop shafts so the washer can seat against it and lock the prop on to the shaft.

No sweat. Btw, if my barnyard terminology serves me well is a poulet not a chicken?:D

The help is always appreciated. And yes, a poulet is indeed a chicken. The joke in my sig doesn't sound as funny if you substitute chicken for poulet. :)
I think I'll shut up now as I don't wanna get egg on my face.
