ESC setup question..

Hi,

I have a Tower Pro 15 am ESC and a Tower Pro brushless motor I am putting on a slow stick. (using a Lipo battery)

I read the instructions on the ESC and it says you can set it up to recognize the battery being used... (i.e. Lip, Nihm etc)

Is that neccisary? :confused: I hooked up the motor, battery, ESC, receiver, and servos and everything seems to be working fine as is.

It is necessary for the correct battery type to be set. If you're using a lipo and it thinks it's a NiMH the cut-off voltage will be too low. If you run it down to cut off once or twice you'll have a dead lipo.

OTOH the default might be o.k. But you'd be the one who knows that, you're the one with the instructions ;).
