Fried the main motor esc, in the 4 in 1, yesterday.....in flight...| :

A sub second of spinning excitement and.....fun's all over.

So....

I have a spare PG03 gyro and a GP 10a ESC.

I'm trying to understand what I need to go seperates....

If I get another 10a ESC would I have what it takes to get flying again e.g.

2 ESC's and a gyro?

the RX is still working fine and I'll keep using it if I can.... my question is...

Main motor ESC plugs into Throttle Channel?
Tail motor ESC plugs into Rudder Channel?

Split power from TP1320 lipo to go to both ESC's?

Help please!!

thanks

Straight forward connections on mine. Castle 10 in chnl 3, Castle 7 in gyro, gyro
in chnl 4.
Wham bang.
Stuck the PG-03 on the side of the front servo, went with the direct drive tail
while I was at it but used the smaller prop EP 0425. Also using a GWS 6 chnl RX
'cuz there are a few pins missing on the 4in1.

So there wasn't any issue with putting two power sources into the GWS RX. I too have a GWS RX. I'll probably be using a C10 for the tail and a GP 35p for the main.

Does the 4 in 1 cut any of the voltage down before sending it out to the tail or does the tail and main motor recieve the same amount of voltage?

Do you then mix the throttle and Rudder channels or do you let the gyro do all the work?

thanks for your input

When going seperates you need to disconnect on eof the red wires from one esc.
Not a good idea to run 2 lots of bec voltage to the reciever. generally the red wire on the tail esc is cut(smaller esc) The red wire is the on eon the 3 strands that plug into the esc. I usually pull the pin out of the housing so i can reconnect later if needed. Using a pgo3 gyro you will need to set up revo mixing on your radio.

A y lead to connect the 2 esc battery leads to the battery is the easy way to plug in.

That's what I ended up doing exactly. Worked like a charm and no more heat problems either. Neither ESC even approaches warm. I used a pegasus 35p for the main and a Great Planes electrofly c10 for the tail. Disconnected the power wire by pulling the pin. Revo mixing was done on the JR6102. I used a cheap little GWS 6ch RX. Power is supplied by TP1320 with a Y connector.

Back to charge and fly......still waiting on the replacement 4 in 1....LOL

Thanks for the input
