Anyone building/flying the new Hyperion models? Are they as gorgeous in person as they appear to be? How well do they perform and what powerplant are you using?

The 3Delight still makes it to the field with me every time I go. An excellent pattern flyer.

How is the quality Mike, and which motor are you running?

Quality is good. The gear is the only weak point of the plane IMO. It ships with CF rod gear. They snap in a second on a rough landing or even a smooth one on grass. I replaced it with my Minifuntana gear I had, but I understand Hyperion carry's replacement gear now.

I am running the Himax 4200 in a Cobri GB 5.3:1 on a 11x7 prop. TP 3S 2000 and 3S 2100. A very good combo. :)

the canopy attachment has to be one of the worst ive ever seen.

since these are made by OK models, i'd say that they are ....well,....OK.

got the hyperion 3delightand was disappointed in that i had to go back to my house to download the instructions . also, EVERYTHING but the fuselage was so badly warped that i actually had to send parts back to them that could not be straightened out by any means i knew of. using a hacker b40 motor and the AUW is 21 oz with a tp 2000 3s pack. combo make almost 40 oz of thrust so i think if i can get it straight ican can get it to fly circles around everything else in my hangar.
good luck

I have had the extra for a few months now...It is a great flying sport plane and looks really good. It is fairly light compared to some other similar models. The aluminum gear seems to be very solid and I have had no problems taking off of short grass. The plane is not set up for 3D and has small ailerons and elevators but does most pattern style aerobatics with ease and some of the best stall turns I have seen.
