Anyone flying a Sylvan Freenze? Gosh I love mine, it's the grooviest wing in it's size bracket I've ever tried. ;)
Those that have em, what motor are you running. I have a handfull of Johnsons, no joke intended, that I have been powering mine with but will be winding a cdr speed motor for one soon.

Hi Tom
Glad to hear that you like the frenzee. I just bought two. Will get them next week.
What batteries are you using? Do you leave the battery permanently attached ? Did you use tape or ultracote? What prop? I'll give you an update when I get mine built.

Hey fredeich, I'm currently using a couple of e-tec 2s 1200 mah old generation packs that I just velcro on to the top of the wing so they can be removed easily.
I used neither tape or covering film on mine nor did I use any strapping reinforcement tape. I used a hard balsa trailing edge and a piece of c/f tube to keep the wing from flexing and for some color I sprayed on a little Krylon Fusion paint. I've found that it's difficult to make epp foam look nice with film covering or Zagi tape so I just shoot a little paint on for orientation and I'm done.
I'm using a 4-4 prop on my Johnson motors and it seems to be about perfect.
I'll drag the camera out and shoot some pics for you as soon as everyone wakes up around here.:D
Although not painted yet I made a battery/motor fairing out of a plastic bottle and hold it on with small magnets. I really don't know if it makes any difference performance wise but it looks kinda cool.
I have a set of pink cores that I'll be building in the future and will wind a hot cdr motor to put on.
Good luck with yours and let me know if I can be of any help. I think you'll really like the way this little wing flys, it has no bad habits that I know of and it's pretty tough.

The wing halfs each have a piece of .188 c/f tube cut into the bottom and the top side, under the balsa plug, has another piece about ten inches long to take the place of strapping tape. The wing trailing edges have hard balsa laminates and the elevons are hinged with Klett mini points instead of hinge tape which I've found just dosen't stick well to epp.
The cowling is made from a plastic bottle cut in half and held on with four small magnets and has never flown off to date. I use Krylon Fusion paint to give it a little color and help with orientation instead of film or tape.
The Sylvan Frenzee is simply the most well made kit and the best flying wing in it's size bracket that I've tried to date, and I'm not being payed to say that. The epp wing cores are cut very precisely and the kits are very complete.
