I'm looking for input on this situation.

During spring cleaning I found a bunch of glow stuff that I put up for sale on another board. I listed everything for 30 bucks plus shipping so we are not talking about a lot of money. Within an hour I had someone that wanted it so I replied asking for their zip to figure shipping charges and my prefered payment method, I haven't heard anything since. I have another person in line to buy, how long should I wait?

My reputation on this and all board is very important to me so I don't want to back door this person. I also don't think I should wait several days....maybe I should.

One more note on this. I noticed that this person has only 4 posts on this very popular board which raised my attention a bit. I'm not saying that someone with 1 post would be trustworthy.

What does everyone think?

I think you've waited long enough. For the other person to not reply by now is simply disrespectful.

If you want to do what seems right I would send them an email or PM stating a deadline by which payment must be received. I would also alert the other interested party and briefly explain what is going on and advise them they are next in line and such.

Good luck.

I had this exact situation last week. I had a person say he was interested and asked some info. I promptly responded via PM. In the mean time, two other people asked to purchase it. I politely explained that I had someone interested and would need to wait on his response but they would be next if he decided not to.

After two days and 3 PMs to him with no response, I posted the same question as Mike to a friend here on the forum. He suggested I look at his activity to see if he had been on line since I PMd him and he was on line at least once after I sent the first PM and did not respond. After two days with no response, I decided that was long enough knowing he had seen my PMs and sold it to the next person in line.

I was the same way Mike. I didn't want to undercut the guy and sell it out from underneath him but on the otherhand, if you say you are interested, you need to follow through and not leave the seller hanging.
