I know that the Walkera comes in for a lot of stick for being cheap and poor quality.
But - for the price I reckon its ok.
For example - I wanted to try the hobby out first of all and of course I will end up crashing / trashing my first chopper ... so had a choice:

either: my 36 - with belt drive rear + brushess motor + 2200 lipo + spare blades + training kit = £156 incl deliv

or: my friend bought a Esky Twister CP from a local shop and with a charger + spare blades and training kit it cost £260.

now - at the end of the day mine looks better - is slightly bigger (stable?) and has belt drive and a bigger battery and brushless motor......
so I reckon the 36 is the best way to go for a first / crash heli.

What is your guys opinions? / whats the market like in the USA ?

silky666,
W#36 is not a first heli.
You'll have more fun to start with the FP heli. I was at the iHobby in LA yesterday, one of the vendor sells the RTF W#4 with training gear, sim cable and software for $80. You may be able to pick one up on ebay for around $110.
I have the W#36 and a friend of mine bought the W#4 last week (too bad, he did not buy from the iHobby Expo), the W#36 needs some work to make it to the air, the W#4 hovers very stable right out of the box, we didn't have to adjust anything. But we DID do the preflight check with the info from other boards.
I would go for the W#4 or Esky FP as your first heli.
