The PT-17 Stearman that I have, the elevator is at a slight angle when the fuse is level, will this cause any major problems when flying? It's not a much at all, less than half an inch.. .here is an image to explain.

it will cause the plane to want to roll when the elevator is used it's best to fix it

1/2 inch is a lot. Even if you have to add a little weight for the repair it may be worth it for it to fly right.

either that, or heat it slightly and bend the foam/balsa back straight. i suggest using a blowdryer on a very low heat setting from a distance as not to melt the foam. with balsa use some distance as well as not to mess up the covering.

Shim up the wing and rudder to match it, you can fly with it if it's slightly off by default. I have a cub that's that way and it's very stable with only minimal trim, but your's is going to be a handfull leaving it as is without adjusting the rest of the surfaces.
You can also just chop the vertical stab off and putting a new one in it's place after hollowing out the slot to accomodate it, this time making sure you have shimmed it up properly.

I haven't touched it since, kinda aggrivated, I have alot of things going on and all. Once I get in the mood, I'll try to correct it :)
