Last week for the maiden the plane was unflyable, no matter what it just didn't feel right and I dorked it in 2 times extremely hard.
I wound up bending the fuse in several places, snapping the nose off, ejecting the motor and cracked a 1" piece off the horizontal stab.
I spent the week (actually about 15 minutes) making the repairs and reading the forums and making posts etc...
Today I decided, I want to fly it to find out whats going on, but I figured maybe a CG change would help.
The CG was located just in front of the aileron hinge line, which according to some people was perfect. I cchanged the CG by adding a fishing sinker with some hot melt glue to the nose.....I really hated to add weight but I felt moving the battery forward and dorking it in could end my battery.
I let an experienced pilot have the sticks, it took off perfect and was leveled with 0 trims on all surfaces and it flew like a kitten!
The CG is now located 1" in front of the aileron hinge line.
He was so impressed by the plane he called several of the other guys over (I am the only one who uses elec. in my town other than 1 person.) I gave all of them some stick time, 2 guys want to know where they can order one!
I put in my 2nd pack and off I went, now I'm a newb so I still get my thumbs backwards, but I had a nice 12 minute flight until I tried slowing it down. I tried flying around at 1/2 throttle or just under and it was just to sensative and I kept stalling it,might take the throws way down.
I was able to harrier for about 10 or so seconds and hovered it for about 30 seconds at about 25 feet high, but of course when I went to punch out I winged it over and bent her up again..
Glad I have a few of these in the closet because this one cant take much more glue lol.
