Me and my brother-in-law had our first attempt at full contact combat with our 3D foamie YAK's yesterday. We thought it would be hard to do, but it was great. There is nothing like seeing your mottor act like a buzzsaw on another person's wing, and watching the foam parts slowly fall to earth. Instant satisfaction.

I we ran down to hobby lobby and picked up the foamy for $17.00. The parts that get cut off glue back on real quick.

Pushers create less damage on impact. We have a group of about 30 locals who like to do full-contact flying-wing combat. Less damage, lots of crashes, and a satisfying "thump" when they hit. I've only had one mid-air... and it wasn't with a combat plane, it was one of those wings tearing the tail off my helicopter!
A spinning tail blade, like a prop, really makes a mess out of foam, doesn't it?

That's the only way I care for it. That ribbon stuff's boring.
Still think you outta go for the high speed, head-on collision.:D

I'm working on that area myself, just I have nobody that I fly with, so it's not going to amount to much fun here, it sounds like a whole lot of fun that can really bring foward a new type of RC pilot and builder for that matter.

I plan to start flying full contact with a GWS spitfire, against a 190. Each bought specifically for the purpose-should be fun. Each with the same setup, so should be close. Except I have the cool plane! :-) (No offense to anyone with a GWS 190)
