I have a friend with one...
We just tested it the other day (attached to a test stand), haven't flown it yet...
He now has an APC 9X4.5E on it w/ a Kokam 3200 3 cell and GP Silver Series 45A. ESC
IIRC we saw something around 12,500 R.P.M. (give or take a few) and a little over 30A. w/ that prop...

We tried an APC 11X5.5E first, thinking that it, being a bigger motor than my 2808/24, would turn it o.k. but we saw something like 55A. on a motor max rated at 35, so we came way down on the prop to be conservative.

IMO, your Lazy Bee would not be under powered with it!:D

He's building something from scratch for it...hasn't "frozen" the design yet, but we figure if he keeps it under 3 lbs. it should still have plenty of power...(he's 76, and mellowing out a bit, ya know?!:))

A 2808/24 should be plenty for that plane and alot lighter also.

Rugar...you're probably right...the 2808/24 should fly a 2 lb. Lazy Bee just fine.

Unless you want the bigger motor just for the heck of it, or maybe for a future project also? The bigger motor will give you more nose weight in an airplane that has a rather short nose...

IMO...the 2814/12 would be overkill, and it'd go straight up with the right battery!:) but the 2808 would fly it probably more "in character" with the style of airplane, ya know?
