Does anybody know where I can get a good P-47 model that could stand up to some hard flying? I have thought about the Alpha but I hear they are very fragile. I don't have a good flying site so I need one that can handle off runway belly landings.

Check out Jim Ryan's P-47. He has a beautiful line of warbirds for speed 400 and brushless equivalents.

I like the Ryan's but I'm not very good at building so I would prefere foam.

I really like that one. I wish it was a D model but it looks great. Anyone flown it? How does it do on the stock set up?

I got one of the Cox warbirds. There is a thread here (http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1060) on them. Let's hope it flys as good as it looks.

JK Aerotech. They are foam combat kits. They can look beautiful, is your good with foam, but you have to do the sculpting/shaping/covering of the foam cores. That's why they are low cost kits.

Have you looked at E-Flite's P-47? It's very nice and flies as good as it looks. Its foam is much sturdier than that of Alpha models.

A very good friend of mine has one. He even added functional rudder as well as steerable tail wheel. :)

It looks absolutely gorgeous and the level of detail is absolutely uncanny. Flies as good as it looks, though it is not a park flyer by any stretch of the imagination.

On the other hand, their Cessna is an absolutely horrid model! :(

The E-Flite P-47 is selling for $70.00 including a good usable geared 480 brushed motor. It's larger than GWS foamies, ROG's easily, looks great and flies in a scale-like manner including simple aerobatics , is stable and easy to fly and lands easily without damage. With a brushless motor/lipo combo like a geared Himax 2025 series motor/geardrive, and an 3S 1500-2200mah lipo pack you have a high performance warbird that can do it all.
