Hi all,

I have a semi big problem. I was making some canard planes for my AHAA electronics and i was transfering my electronics to the new canard and for some reason all of my wires came off!::o I think i know where they all go but how do i get them back on. Im afraid of soddering because everything is so tiny! I am trying double sided foam tape right now but still wires touch each other and other problems are taking place.

Please help.
Thanks.

i use a magnifying stand and a steady hand for this kida work.
first off tin the micro wires and the use a clean hot soldering iron to melt the residual solder on the connections and tinned wire to that connection no additional solder should be needed as they should bined ok .
do it under a lighted magnifyer stand if you have one . and then check you have not over soldered the joints together .
remember a clean sharp soldering iron point is futile and if you can get a superfine one to fit in your iron the easier it is.

Hi Greenace, Richard is right, it's nearly impossible (or, very frustrating!) to try to solder without one of these;

And you can also use an illuminated magnifier like this;

One modification I make is to file the teeth off the alligator clips, they're sharp and can cut the wire insulation. After filing or grinding them smooth, slip on some heat-shrink tubing for a good surface.
Any kind of heat sink between the work and circuit board is helpful. After tinning the wires, make a quick, clean solder joint and remove the iron. Let the joint cool before moving it.
Good Luck!

Yeah, I dont have one of those and VERY FRUSTRATING doesn't begin to describe it :mad:. I'd have to guess they are actually more helpful then another set of hands as well. We've done the "you hold that and I'll solder'm" still just as frustrating, lol.
thanks for the link!
