A Flyin Styro P38 project I want to start will have 2 AXI 2212/34 motors. Will the motors work properly together by using a controller for each motor connected with a y harness to the RX and one 3s lipo wired in series with both controllers? I will disable one of the BEC's.

I have a couple of twins, one used two speed controls and one only has one.
They both work great, you should experiment with the one speed control and see if it will work with the axi's.

I was somewhat worried about one controller handling the two outrunners, as there is lots of bad press about this configuration. I presume that the one controller would need to be rated for twice the amps if connected to two motors vs the other configuration. Am I on the right track -- two motors draw twice the amps?

You would need an esc that could handle the higher amp draw of two motors.
It was just a suggestion, I have had good luck with it, worth a shot.

Thanks -- hearing from someone with one that works is always helpful in my book. I'll try one big one first, and then go to two if need be.
