Hi, I just went flying with my superstar ep and i had just installed a new motor and I wanted to see how many amps i pulled. So I charged my 7cell 2000mah battery to just about 2120mah with my triton charger.

Now my question is how many amps did I pull from the battery? Do I determine this by charging the battery and getting the mah or discharging it?

Thanks, Sam:)

I'm kind of a newb to but I believe pulling amps refers to how many amps you are using when your motor is running, as in " I am pulling Xnumber of amps at idle and Xnumber at full throttle, if you want to know how much of the capacity of your battery you used, put it on the charger and see what it takes to recharge it, that number is what you used.

You can estimate (roughly!) the amp draw by flying your plane with a fully charged battery and timing the flight. After charging the battery, this formula will give you a very rough estimate of your average amp draw during the flight.

Ave Amp Draw = (Ah needed to recharge battery X 60)/min flying time

Ah = mah/1000

So if it took 1000mah to recharge the battery and you flew for 10 min,

it would be:

1000mah/1000 = 1Ah

Ave Amp Draw = (1Ah X 60)/10 = 6A.
