I found this in another forum and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this model. It looks to be a copy of the Ripmax Spit. which I think is an ARF of the Balsa Craft. It is man. by http://www.dghaikong.com/ and available from Grand Hobby which sells on e bay or directly from CA. It looks to be the only 600 size ARF war bird around.

Some nice planes on that web link. I really like that P-51D Mustang 60. That would make a nice EP Conversion.

The parent company has an online store listing some really good prices on other components such as brushless motors. The dollar is good on the AUD, but the shipping is killer . I have no direct experience with this company other than the Spit is on its way via an ebay purchase. There are now several and looks to be had better than I did :(.

Thats the one Rugar. There are 5 now on bid and one buy now for $109. They describe it with a fiberglass fuse, but show a built up in the pics . Someone who bought one has pics of his and it is wood. Looks nearly identical to the Ripmax but for the covering. I think this is an untapped market.

Yep, it says Fiberglass fuse, but even the pictures show it as wood. That's the problem when buying off e-bay, its a gamble on seeing what you actually get. Please post a report and some pictures when you get yours in. Interested in the quality of their kits. Like I said, I really like that P-51.

I agree with the risk. That was the first time I have purchased anything at aucion on ebay as I am a low risk type :). I went for it when I read the info on a thread about it and a couple of guys are flying it with good results. One guy may be having some trouble with getting the trim right and the CG info was given too aft. I will relay info when it arrives, but no pics due to lack of digi. cam. I will try and borrow one though. I plan on fitting retracts and a steer able tail wheel also.

there are a whole lot of planes at that site that Aircraft World in Japan are selling...

like the CAP and Su31. It's funny, as those models are supposedly made by OK in Japan...

Well I have the Spit and it is very nice. Laser cut, drab almost fabric like covering, all built up balsa and ply. The air frame is very light with nice touches like two mounts that slot and bolt to the fuse, wing fillets built in, panel lines with rivet detail, clear canopy with framing. Looks to be semi symmetrical wing with that great Spit elliptical tip ;).
I am going for a MK IX look with 4 blade prop, front scoop (already made and will be functional) , rad. scoops (functional air extractors), Robart retracts, squad. 75. It will take me forever, but I have to learn this some time :D.

Oh, the cowl is painted unlike the one shown in the pic above. It is gray with exhaust stacks painted flat black.
