Hey Folks,

If you are into Micro helis, RCU and IRCHA have teamed up with iHobbyExpo (the largest hobby show in North America) to put on the World Micro Heli Cup competition at the Los Angeles Convention Center in October. There will be at least 10 free helis given away to spectators and more than $10,000 in cash and prizes all together.

There will be two classes of competition (Super Micro - under 24" rotor and Micro - under 30"). There are watt restrictions on each class and mandatory maneuvers (click here for all contest details and to download a rule sheet (http://www.rcuniverse.com/heli) .

FLYRC magazine is covering the event and it should be a great boost to a very cool segment of electric flight. There are a bunch of new products on the market and part of the purpose of the event is to introduce them to the hobby public. We will have flight demos and will give away an electric heli (e.g. T-Rex, Blade, Housefly, and much more) to at least 10 spectators at the event.

If you are interested in competing, you can submit an application (it's by invitation only like the ETOC) using the link above.

I hope everyone gets a pumped about this as we are!! As we develop the pilot and sponsor list, there will be more updates on the page linked above.

Michael
