Yup, at it again.

I wrote out a long winded serious thread, and now I need to counter it with something completely worthless and meaningless.

And for all of you that hate it when I do this. Don't blame me for how long they go on, blame all the OTHER posters who keep these stupid things running.


Just to show I am not hated by all...

In all seriousness, Flying Monkey is a real great guy to hang out with, oops, did I say hang, sorry. Had a blast just getting to know people who post here.

Got back from Hodges and flying with the monkey. He did well and we had a blast. He gets a lot of poop from people, but he is truely an awesome dude. He erected (yes I just said erected) a seperate tent just for me to store my planes in for the night.

Can't wait to go back for more fun tomorrow.

AND, I might add, FM didn't crash at all today..., not once!! It was VERY windy most of the day... I had to act as "go between" him and the WeaZilla, as she was especially concerned that FM DIDN'T get any food on her favorite chair, so he promptly invited us ALL to come sit in the chair while we were eating the wonderful barbaque made by 2 Dutch gentlemen. They fly them little Voodoo's, that go about 200 MPH. I couldn't even see them sometimes (and, unfortunately, one of them couldn't either, one time) which resulted in both of them trying to fly a single A/C while the other buried itself at full bore..... It was over quickly.... (understand they did the same at SEFF last year) FM was a good sport today, only irritating one young teenage girl, whose A/C he kept trying to steal after she won it in the raffle... Go figure, eh?? Met some of the others from the forums here today and all had a good time....

Heck, even Roland, the guy with the wooden shoes at SEFF, who came all the way over from the Netherlands, just to crash his Voodoo at Hodge's decided to join the monkey bandwagon... (note the little monkey in his breast pocket.)

On top of all that, the Penguin, who couldn't make it in person, sent his PR rep in support of the Minions...

I really like it....the shop 2 doors down from the glass shop I work at is an Olde Time Photo place...

I traded them some of my work for the photoshoot, (3) 8 x 10's, (8) wallet size, and a CD with all the photos on it.... They did a really good job getting all four to look the right direction and all....

I plan to send a copy to Mom and one to Dad and one to a Sister...None of them have met my dogs yet, although the pups and I will be going for a visit in a couple of months......first time in 4 years.:)

Good point. That really has nothing to do with appreciating our local Monkey and my post was, shall we say, quite “post” or late. My post was in reference to post #25, which I did quote in my oxymoronic post, just showing ridiculous examples of OXYMORON! You know, a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms. “STOP-KEEP MOVING”, “Sanitary-Sewer”!

Hmm. Unless that event is in northern Oregon/southern Washington state (the Pacific Northwest) chances are I wont be attending. As such, being as you are some 3000+miles away, your address is safe with me, i.e. I probably wont be stalking you. My second car was a 1978 (I think...) Datsun 280z

I've owned and built quite a few Z cars over the years in many configurations from stock to Big Block Chrysler 440 V-8 conversions and a few in-between. Started out back in the late '80's


The original BRAAP Z, ’75 280-Z, in its last iteration had a small block Chevy 350 and 5 speed. Ran the ¼ mile in 12.3 @ 113 MPH (dead even the Dodge Viper GTS of the mid ‘90’s). That was my daily driver… Parted it out some years back.

The BEAST! 77 280-Z with a Big Block Chrysler 440 and Torque Flite 727 trans, manual shift body! Obnoxious best described this car as a driver.. Fun, but obnoxious… Sold it to a gentleman in Louisiana a couple years back.

My current daily driver, '93 300-ZX, nothing special only mods are custom brakes and a few suspension goodies. The V-8 from my totaled Infiniti Q-45 is slated to go in the engine bay later this summer. (the Q-ship was my daily driver till someone rearended the car January last year. Bought the car back from insurance for a song and a dance with plans to use the that all aluminum 32 valve 278 HP V-8 in a Z car)

My wifes best friend, (and her very happy 15 year old daughter) who lives in J-ville Florida, was at our place here in Oregon for our annual camp-in last year. Spur of the moment purchase during that visit was this VERY clean all original ’78 280-Z. She left it in our care to give a thorough once over and she either will fly back here this spring to drive the car to Florida or have it shipped. Shipping is spendy. The Big Block Z cost over $800 to ship to Louisiana. The trip over all could cost that, but end up being nice week long vacation/trip…
