View Full Version : Individual Li-poly Cell charging

I have an Electric Power Li-poly 1800 mAh 11.1 V 3 cell battery pack (3S) that has the polyquest connector for charging and checking the individual cells. One cell is slightly out of balance with the two other cells. Using a Triton charger what are the settings that I need to use to bring the low cell to its maximum capacity? Do I set the voltage at 3.7 volts and 1800 mAh when I'm charging this individual cell using the respective leads on the polyquest connector?

If you are charging one cell, you would set the Triton for 3.7V and 1.8A (or much less). Another way is to discharge the high cell(s) with a resistor or lightbulb. The balance should be checked after waiting at least 10 min after a full charge. Checking balance of a discharged pack is not reliable as differences can show up which disappear after charging. I don't worry about differences less than 0.03V.
