 Does anyone have experience using the substitute in a G.P. Super Sportster -E.P.? Rest of the Endo setup is 8-3300 NIMH,!2x8 Elec.Prop ,Griffin 55Amp ESC.and 3.8 pinion gear in a GP600 Gear drive. Since Kyosho took over Endo. distribution in the U.S.A.,the price has jumped from around $20 to somewhere around $50 .

I wrote an entire post and it didn't let me post for some reason, so here goes again. To start out, have a read here... http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=411858
There are a few suggestions for endo replacements in there, and you might be able to find one for sale as well. If the one you mention is the tower/gp branded one, I wouldn't recommend it, as it has a smaller comm, and the absolute smallest brushes, which will wear out VERY quickly with your current setup. 2 I have been looking at myself, are these http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJBX6&P=7

They have the new round brushes and a different kind of spring designed to hold the brush down for less arcing at higher rpm and amp draw. I'm gonna be getting one for christmas, so if you haven't decided then, I will let you know what I think. Orion has been making motors for LONG time, so I'm pretty confident in them. The round brush design is at an angle for much more contact area, and should be better or at least the same as endo on brush wear. Your setup is close to 40 amps and I'd be kind of leary about using a square-brushed motor at anything over 30a, unless it has the P94 brushes, which have been determined to fit in the endo...they are 4.5x5 or 4.5x4.5mm instead of the endo's 5x5mm. These will give similar brush life as the endo at the higher amps, but again, the comm is much smaller with any of the other buggy motors that I've seen. My OP had some more info, but now I forget what else I had.

From the rcg thread, Mike (mrm1) has ordered one and will be comparing armatures on this and the endo. He also will do some testing with a wattmeter so we can both know how it compares. I'm getting one of those orion motors myself, and if the specs aren't up to endo-dom, I'll still be using it in one of my trucks. Oh, welcome to the group also, and have a happy thanksgiving as well!
