Does anyone have experience with this model? It looks well built, and I just happen to have an esc, servos and a 1500 3s that might work in it. I wanted to see if anyone has flown it and has any comments about it before spending $$$.

Excellent flying jet if you keep the weight down or increase the power out. Definately benefits from a brushless setup. Talk to Keith at StuffWeLike.net and checkout the EZone thread below. By the way, the M2000 is on sale til the end of the month at Keith's website.

what is the diameter of the fan for this?

The stock Kamdax fan is very close to the Wattage powerfan and the Wemotec Minifan, both can be fitted easily. The walkera fan should fit too. In short any fan of approx 70-75mm outside diameter will slip right in.

I beleive someone already posted a link thread to RCG's that contains lots of information on the PART2 thread and both my buddy and I have posted his power setup using the Himax HC2815-4000 using the POLY QUEST "TWENTY" 2500mAH, 20C, 3S1P, Li-POLY. Measured wide open Throttle Amp Draw was observed at 46.44 Amps steady. You can toss it in a sissy manner and that model zooms upward like a home sick dove.

I saw someone at the RCG's thread indicating that this particular model is on SALE during the holidays! Hurry!

Since the esc I've got is for brushed motors, I may go with the stock fan setup at first. It's always fun to have too much power though...;)

im leaning towards the alfa fan for this one...22A with himax 2025-5300...but am worried about the fit...it is 60mm.

for a 500g plane, it should ROG without wheels....has anyone done this (i hate hand launching).

also, has anyone fitted retracts?

Tim.

The styro is brittle and doesn't take much to shatter into bits (bad landing's or rx interference). Almost any fan unit can be used like already stated, but it's front inlets are too small and some ugly rectangle cheater holes on the top side of the fuse are required (right in front of the fan inlet), UNLESS you use some of the IC inlet duct fairings sold at stuffwelike.net under accessories. I used these on my stock powered M2000 and it flew well until it got a hit that brought it down from a few feet up and then showered into little beads. She's fixed now, but the electrics have been robbed for other uses. Doesn't help that all the wires go from the cockpit into the ducting (bad place for them too) all through one hole. Glitching is a common complaint with the E-users.

If you are using a light lipo pack, move the fan farther forward than described in the instructions (the whole one page). I had my 3sTP 1900 almost into the nose cone for balance with the rx and ESC up front as well.

Oh, and the stock fan doesn't take to 4s as well as the stock WPF400 380 motor does. :o Stocker got scorching hot in a bench test 30-45 second run.

I'd recommend getting the sloper kit and useing a different fan. The Kamdax oads up just like the WPF (but much louder!) pulling 2more amps and making almost 2 oz's of thrust more. The down side is it come in the kit ($50 more), it's blades are contoured to the taper of the inlet of the fan (they change diam together) and blade gap can be impared, or not seen as the adapter is put on. You don't know you've gone too far until the fan rubs when assembled. For $25 you can buy a WPF and it runs MUCH quieter and there is more fan/motor combo info around for that unit. Blade strength is comperable to the WPF too.

Tim- The Alfa fan will fit in there. The outlet of the plane is smaller than 60mm (can't measure it right now) but trial fitting shows it would sit where I have my Kamdax mounted. Would lessen the need for the ugly cheater holes with the smaller FSA too!

Fourth launch, first flight. Sorry now sound. :(

hmmmmm....good stuff J.

my thinking is considering the issues with the FSA and inlet area, then the smaller diam fan might be a solution.

as you know the alfa can do the 16 oz, and at 20A or so also. I'd suspect the losses wouldnt be as great as that being experienced in the stock and WPF combos for this reason. (?)

At $117US though, im thinking the alfa mig might be the better choice still...i crashed mine into the roof of a house being a top gun pilot...but prior to that it was brilliant.

It's been too long since I measured, but IIRC with the IC inlets the openings were large enough for the 67(?)mm sized fans. I have it all burried in my hobby room under X-Mas presents so I can only touch/see half of it. :o

I've heard great things about their mig. I don't know if it is on sale like the $69 Sloper M2000 is.

ok..ive got a new 65mm fan here that i can test to see if its a candidate also...i think ill do that first, as if it can perform with more thrust than the alfa (which it should if it holds together) and similar current, then it is a possibility also.

Hello guys,

I just found this and it got my eye attention

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=150098576418&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI

There is a video on this page and the plane seems very fast...
My question is: Is it realy that fast?

And I'm sorry to reply such an old thread :o

Thank you very much
