Hello,

I have one Himax HA3618-3033 Brushless motor hooked up to one Castle Creations PHX-45. This motor is the 36mm Diameter, 18mm Long, 3000 Rpm/Volt, with the 3.3:1 planetary gearbox.

Maxx Products have been having trouble stocking the piece parts for the Planetary gearbox as I need the inner bearings that go in front and part of the sun gear. The bearings that I suspect needs replacing are those that are in front of the sun gear and part of the frontal threaded cap end that contains the output shaft.

Does anyone have the 36XX series motor and placed it in a gearbox and if so what type of gearbox? I understand Monster Box, Super Box, etc... are very well known? Also, how easy or difficult was it to install on the motor?

Thanks!
Carlos:cool:

Say, you haven't tried Boca Bearings for your bearing needs, have you? They should be able to match the bearings you need based on size and/or part number.

The Superbox and Monsterbox are conventional offset-style gearboxes, so if your need is for an inline planetary due to space, they're not an alternative. They install easily; pinion on the motor, two bolts to attach the gearbox, slip of notebook paper between the gears to set the gear lash, and you're done...

I am presently waiting for the Great Planes Monster Look-a-like from Tower Hobbies.....

However, for some reason.....and one e-mail from Tower Hobbies has indicated problems at the factory?? that it has been over 5 months that they keep postphoning the availability of this item so, I am going to give them another month and if nothing, I will order a Monster Box!:red:
