I converted the Sportsman Aviation Paramount 52/70 to electric power. A Kontronik 600 w/4.2:1 gearbox and a 17" APC prop. Castle Phoenix 80 ESC and TP 6S2P 6000mah. Unlimited vertical at 1/2 throttle.

Had a couple tech difficulties first two days out but just waiting now for weather to really wring this out.

That Spinner looks good on there. Nice fit and good job on the conversion.

I have video of the maiden flight. The flight was cut short due to a failed esc (since replaced) but gives a small taste of what this can do. This is literally only the 1st 6 minutes of flying.

Great stuff!

I'm picking one a Acro 50 up to do the same type of conversion.

What is your amp draw on this setup?

What is your amp draw on this setup?

I have to test it again. Originally it was under the 80 amps but the last time I checked it blew way past it. I'm considering reducing the gear ration to 5.2:1 and increasing prop to 18" which should bring amps down. The power was insane on the maiden. I had calculated over 200 watts per pound.
