Hello; I just purchased a Combat Models A-10. I need information on powering it with electric ducted fans. Fan size, motor size, and possibly manufacturers of those that might work well in this model. It`s all foam, about a 52" wing, 480 sq in, and I expect it may weigh around 5lbs.
Thanks Buck:confused:

Contact Robert at EJF.com . He has done the EDF conversion to this kit with great results.

I have one of these also and pretty much gave up on ducted fans due to the cost and weight involved. I am currently building mine light as possible and using carbon fiber as much as possible to reinforce the airframe and not glassing it. My calculations show around 54 ounces flying weight ( less batteries )using a Hacker B50-8S and a Mpjet 3.8:1 planetary gearbox turning a 8x8 APC-E or 9x7.5 APC-E prop using 4S2P Kokam 3200's in pusher configuration . I'll probably be pushing this motor at full throttle, but will mostly fly at half throttle anyways and save full for a strafing run. I don't have much confidence in the gearbox, but I can always replace them as they wear. I should have very spirited performance and much lower wingloading with a nice 70 to 80mph top end speed.

I'll post some pics as I get more done to it.
